TENSUM — Context Study
A direct transition between earthy ochre and indigo blue forms the core of this vertical composition. Originating from the dark rectangular block anchoring the upper portion, a series of diagonal bands divided by fine, incised lines descend in a structural zigzag, guiding the tension toward a small white rectangle emitting a cool light in the lower right corner. The unframed canvas, with its painted edges continuing the chromatic mass, hangs against the tactile surface of a raw concrete wall. In this contemporary gallery environment, directional spotlights highlight the subtle density of the acrylic and oil layers, where successive scrapings and glazes reveal a rich physical texture. The viewer’s eye moves systematically down the composition, navigating the angular planes from the absolute opacity of the upper monolith to the sharp luminous accent at the base.
