SINGULA — Context Study
The immediate chromatic contrast between the dense crimson band along the lower edge of the canvas and the upper fields of ultramarine and black organizes the visual scale of the space. Across this dark plane, thin white horizontal incisions trace precise boundaries from which small quadrangular shapes hang—some outlined, others filled with saturated red—configuring a contained geometric tension. The application of acrylic and oil reveals a process of layering and scraping, bringing a tactile presence and material weight to the textile surface. Resting on the concrete floor within a minimalist architecture of rustic plaster and exposed beams, the 120 by 80 cm painting establishes a close physical relationship with the viewer. The visual journey ascends through the geometric structure before returning inevitably to the solid red band at the base.
