INTERVALLUM — Context Study
The frontal transition between the vibrant carmine of the upper band and the dense black layer below is illuminated by soft natural light from large windows. The middle plane of the canvas unfolds into a luminous, solid yellow, anchored by small raised square elements and a suspended circle, before descending into bands of earth tones and green at the base. Vertical drips and linear incisions resembling fragile stairs introduce a sense of transit across the horizontal geometry. Placed within a central panel of classical moldings with subtle gold profiles, the painting's verticality breaks the solemnity of the traditional architectural space. The polished marble floor captures this encounter, casting a diffused reflection of color in the silence of the room.
