Conceptual Note

Through a methodical layering on a vertical canvas, this textured acrylic and oil painting organizes space into horizontal and diagonal strata where light blue geometric blocks rest upon fields of crimson red, ochre, and earth tones.

The surface reveals a mineral quality, juxtaposing the flat, opaque density of the rectangular blocks with the subtle transparencies of the background.
