ADITUS — Context Study
In 'ADITUS,' light sculpts the surface, revealing the topography of its dark fields. Expansive planes of deep, almost black blues and earthy browns are arranged in horizontal bands that meet and overlap, creating visual density. The texture, built with acrylic and oil through glazes and impasto, evokes sedimentation. Fine incisions cross the canvas, delineating divisions. Small rectangular blocks in bright yellow and crimson red, alongside a white element with drips, act as anchor points. This contemporary abstract painting, part of the LIMINA series, constructs a space where structure dialogues with dissolution. A diminutive staircase in the lower area hints at a transitional threshold. The interplay of light on these layered surfaces concludes the visual narrative.
