STRATA X — SIGNUM — Context Study
Against a deep indigo blue field, STRATA X — SIGNUM unfolds a composition where four vibrant carmine rectangular blocks appear suspended in space. Two white, incised lines with irregular strokes traverse the canvas diagonally, introducing a visual tension that divides the surface into distinct planes. The chromatic foundation, built with layers of acrylic and oil, reveals a material texture, a result of the layering and scraping process that gives the artwork an almost geological presence. The red forms, anchored between the white divisions, generate an ascending rhythm and a sense of contained stillness within the structure. The interplay of these elements directs the gaze through an abstract territory, where each stratification contributes to the perception of depth and spatial organization.
