LIMEN — Context Study
Presented from an elevated perspective, Maurizio Valch’s "LIMEN" anchors a textured concrete wall, interacting with the verticality of the surrounding open-plan space. This eminently vertical composition features a series of intensely saturated chromatic blocks. A dominant light blue plane, rendered with layers of acrylic and oil, occupies the upper section. It contrasts with a solid vertical yellow band on the left. Towards the base, an intense horizontal red segment grounds the artwork, while dark, almost black forms on the right suggest contained density. The surface reveals a technique of layering and scraping, with fine incised lines dissecting the color fields, subtly fragmenting the geometry and introducing a material tension. These divisions and the interaction of primary colors construct a visual territory that may evoke intersecting planes or tectonic elements, inviting a dialogue with the architectural environment.
