INTERVALLUM — Context Study
INTERVALLUM organizes the canvas into horizontal bands, segmenting it into chromatic territories of intense materiality. Each division features a surface worked with acrylic and oil, where the layering reveals a process of sedimentation. In the top band, raised red squares disrupt the plane, creating a structural presence. The intermediate black section displays vertical drips, introducing dynamic fracture to the composition, contrasting with the expansive yellow field of gestural texture. Further down, the brownish-gray surface is defined by scrapes and incisions that hint at monolithic forms or steps. The visual journey moves between the solidity of the blocks and the fluidity of the marks, inviting a close exploration of each stratum.
