CLIVUS — Context Study
A central band of cobalt blue meets a dense field of crimson red at the upper edge, establishing the focal tension of the canvas. From this chromatic core, the 80 x 130 cm vertical composition unfolds through ochre and earth green slopes that segment the surface. This acrylic and oil painting, marked by fine incised lines, hangs on a rustic plaster panel integrated into an exposed brick wall. Beside the work, a wooden easel and the filtered glow from a large arched stained-glass window create a silent studio atmosphere, where colored light plays across the terracotta floor. Overhead illumination highlights the material relief and subtle scraped layers of the piece. The visual path moves upward, guided by turquoise tectonic lines connecting small, suspended light-blue rectangular blocks.
