Vertical abstract painting by Maurizio Valch. Dark blue and brown tones dominate, divided by horizontal bands. Small rectangular blocks in red, yellow, and white, along with incised lines, are distributed across the composition. At the bottom, a small staircase ascends towards an opening in a dark plane. The surface features textures and paint drips.
ADITUS, from the LIMINA series, unfolds a material territory with deep blues and browns. Horizontal divisions and geometric elements create visual tension, inviting a thoughtful observation of its textures and forms.

ADITUS — Context Study

ADITUS, a work from the LIMINA series, presents a vertical composition where horizontal rhythms subtly segment the space with a delicate tension. Dense, material fields of dark blue, earthy brown, and intense black extend, creating a surface that suggests geological sedimentation. Precise incisions and fine lines interrupt these planes, delineating horizons and divisions, some almost tectonic. Upon this worked texture, blocks of vibrant color—yellow and crimson red—emerge as striking counterpoints. A white square, suspended at the top, from where vertical drips flow, introduces a downward movement. The surface is perceived as skin or terrain, inviting tactile observation. This interrelationship of elements composes a territory of limits and transitions, where matter dialogues with space in a contained manner.
