LUX REMOTA — Context Study
LUX REMOTA constructs a visual space of contained depth, where each chromatic plane defines a distance and subtle tension. A vast, deep blue extends across the upper section, punctuated by a clear sphere emitting a quiet light. Above a horizon of earthy and rosy tones, a vibrant vermilion block emerges as an anchor point. Further down, a delicate, vertical red ladder ascends from a field of light tones and a bright turquoise base, connecting the distinct strata of the canvas. The surface, crafted with acrylic and oil, reveals the materiality of the layers through impasto and incisions, creating a tactile geography. The artwork's horizontal format, with its prominent horizontal lines and vertical elements, generates a visual balance that invites prolonged observation, suggesting a territory of anticipation and contemplation.
