LUX REMOTA — Context Study
A vast field of deep blue dominates the upper portion of "LUX REMOTA," creating an expansive stillness. Beneath this abstract sky, the composition is organized by a stepped horizon where pale peach, pink, and green tones form a stratified surface. To the left, a crimson block, with a monolithic presence, rises with defined geometry. Small ladders, a more vibrant red, emerge from this terrain and lean against the structure, suggesting an ascent or a threshold. A luminous white dot, suspended in the blue, adds visual tension and a sense of distance. In this acrylic and oil on canvas work from the MARE SOMNIORUM series, Maurizio Valch constructs a territorial space where matter and form coexist with a structural and minimalist sensibility.
