LIMEN — Context Study
"LIMEN," from the EMERSIO series, unfolds a surface of worked matter where acrylic and oil pigments reveal a geography of tensions. The canvas features an expansive light blue field, rich in texture, juxtaposed against solid dark blue blocks rising on the right side. An intense vertical yellow stripe forms a dividing axis, lending an almost architectural structure to the composition. At the base, a vibrant red segment visually anchors the space, while fine, scratched lines traverse the surfaces, suggesting thresholds or internal borders. These incisions, with greenish and pinkish tones, appear to emerge from the canvas itself, fragmenting yet unifying the distinct chromatic territories. The artwork invites a thoughtful reading of its materiality, where each layer and mark contributes to the perception of a stratified reality, evoking the essence of a space in constant transformation.
