INTERVALLA — Context Study
Viewed from a dramatic low angle near the floor, the vertical canvas of INTERVALLA rests against an exposed brick wall inside an industrial loft. The extreme perspective emphasizes the 120 x 160 cm scale of the painting, guiding the eye upward along the grain of the wooden floorboards towards the high ceiling beams. On the canvas, layers of oil and acrylic build a dense field of cobalt blue, contrasted by a vertical rust-toned block on the left with a bright yellow edge. Delicate white incised lines cross the composition, supporting two suspended red squares that act as geometric anchors. This oblique viewpoint highlights the physical three-centimeter depth of the stretcher, allowing the architectural textures of the loft to dialogue with the painting's sober, material calm. Part of the LIMINA series, the work avoids direct representation, establishing a quiet spatial presence where geometry and textured surfaces define an open threshold.
