An extreme low-angle photograph taken from the concrete floor of an industrial loft, showing a metal star embedded in the foreground. In the background, on a high exposed brick wall, hangs the vertical abstract painting INTERVALLA by Maurizio Valch, characterized by a cobalt blue field, an orange block on the left, and suspended red quadrants.

INTERVALLA — Context Study

The vibration arising from the encounter between the bright yellow edge and the dense field of cobalt blue initiates the visual journey of this work. Within the plane, the composition organizes its space through fine white lines that obliquely support two red quadrants, establishing a suspended geometry over the surface. The oil and acrylic on canvas reveal subtle textures and areas of material accumulation that betray the manual work of layering and scraping. This structure refers to a threshold of passage, an intermediate territory where geometric boundaries act as visual traffic signs within the LIMINA series. Presented from an extreme low-angle perspective at floor level, the 120 by 160 centimeter vertical canvas integrates into the imposing exposed brick wall of an industrial loft, where the vanishing lines of the polished concrete and the height of the space emphasize its architectural presence.
