Cliff of Rising Light: A Custodian in the Constellation

Strata Solar Passage is an original structural metaphysical painting by Maurizio Valch, created within the Strata series. The work is built through warm layered color fields, geometric planes and a luminous central passage that opens the composition into depth. A pale sky, a suspended sun and strong orange, yellow, red and green structures create a contemporary abstract landscape where territory becomes both physical and symbolic. The white diagonal passage leads the eye through the painting, suggesting movement, distance and a quiet threshold between ground and emergence. This contemporary abstract painting connects geometric abstraction, metaphysical landscape and symbolic territory. Its layered surface, warm chromatic presence and subtle structural signs create a field of perception shaped by light, balance, silence and sedimented time.

Conceptual Note

In Strata Solar Passage, the landscape is not described as a natural view, but constructed as a passage through time, light and structure. The painting belongs to the language of Structural Metaphysical Painting, where territory becomes a layered field of perception. The large geometric forms rise from the ground like silent presences. They do not represent buildings in a literal sense; they suggest emergence, as if culture, memory and consciousness were beginning to take form within the landscape. The white central path functions as a threshold, guiding the viewer through a territory that feels both external and interior. Within the Strata series, this work emphasizes solar expansion rather than nocturnal tension. Yet beneath its warmth, there is still a quiet sense of fault lines and ground frequency: a subtle vibration where color, structure and silence organize the visible world.

Studio Information

This painting began from the idea of a sunlit passage. The central white path became the main movement of the work, opening a visual route through the layered territory. The warm orange, red and yellow planes were developed as strata, creating a ground that feels physical, luminous and sedimented. The green and ochre vertical forms introduce weight and rhythm, while the pale sky and suspended sun soften the composition with distance and stillness. The small ladder-like signs are almost hidden inside the structure. They introduce human scale without interrupting the silence of the painting. In this work, the Strata series becomes more solar, open and expansive. The painting holds the essential ideas of Structural Metaphysical Painting: layered territory, symbolic passage, geometric abstraction, silent emergence and the vibration of the ground before language.
