At a Distance
Strata Nocturnal Ground Frequency is an original structural metaphysical painting by Maurizio Valch, created within the Strata series. The work is built through horizontal color fields, dark atmospheric layers and subtle ladder-like signs that create a symbolic abstract landscape. Deep teal, blue, red, orange and green strata divide the composition into zones of depth, silence and vibration. Small luminous markers appear across the surface, acting as points of emergence within the darker territory. The ladders introduce a fragile human scale, suggesting passage, ascent and access to hidden levels of perception. This contemporary abstract painting connects geometric abstraction, metaphysical landscape and symbolic territory. Its layered surface suggests ground frequency: a silent vibration beneath the visible world, where color, structure and consciousness begin to form before language.

Conceptual Note
In Strata Nocturnal Ground Frequency, the landscape appears as a layered field of memory, depth and resonance. The painting does not describe a place directly; it constructs a territory through horizontal strata, chromatic pressure and suspended signs. The dark upper field establishes a nocturnal atmosphere, while the lower bands operate like sedimented ground. Each layer carries a different emotional weight, creating a sense of time accumulated within the surface. The thin ladder forms act as access points, suggesting movement through a territory that remains silent, unstable and partially hidden. Within the language of Structural Metaphysical Painting, this work brings together Strata, Fault Lines and Ground Frequency. The result is a contemplative abstract landscape where the ground seems to vibrate beneath the image, as if perception were emerging slowly from darkness.
Studio Information
This painting began from a horizontal structure: bands of color laid one over another, like layers of ground, night and memory. The composition developed through depth rather than expansion, creating a quiet but intense field. The darker tones gave the work its nocturnal atmosphere. Teal, blue, red and green areas were built as strata, allowing the surface to feel both physical and emotional. The small luminous markers and ladder-like signs were introduced as points of orientation. They do not explain the space; they suggest access, scale and possible movement within it. In this piece, the Strata series becomes darker, more atmospheric and more internal. The work holds the key elements of Structural Metaphysical Painting: layered territory, fault-line tension, symbolic passage and ground frequency before language.
