Metaphysical Tectonic Territory
Metaphysical Tectonic Territory is a large horizontal abstract painting by Maurizio Valch, developed within the evolution of Structural Metaphysical Painting in 2026. The work presents a constructed territory where chromatic planes, monolithic presences, horizon tension and incised lines organize the pictorial field. Rather than depicting a specific landscape, the painting suggests a territory in formation: a space where structure, silence and thought appear to emerge from the ground. Its broad horizontal format reinforces the sense of passage, distance and tectonic expansion. The composition belongs to Valch’s investigation into territory and thought, where landscape becomes a field of consciousness and pictorial structure functions as a sign of emergence.

Conceptual Note
This work belongs to the evolution of Structural Metaphysical Painting in 2026, where the landscape becomes more synthetic, frontal and tectonic. Large chromatic masses organize the composition as a constructed territory, while the horizon and incised lines create a sense of passage through the pictorial field. The painting does not represent a place; it suggests a territory in formation. Monolithic forms, spatial divisions and areas of chromatic tension act as signs of emergence, as if thought were beginning to organize itself within the ground.
Studio Information
In this work, the territory becomes more direct and less narrative. The structure is still present, but it begins to move toward the later language of Strata: broader fields, stronger masses, fewer elements and a clearer relation between ground, horizon and presence. This painting can be read as a transitional work between Structural Metaphysical Painting and the more reduced language that appears later in 2026.
