MYSTICAL FACES- Since 2019
Mystical Faces is a series centred on the human face as a territory of fragmentation, perception and inner presence.
These works do not function as portraits in a traditional sense. The faces appear broken into planes, segments and chromatic fields, suggesting that identity is not a fixed unity but a layered and shifting experience. The gaze becomes the axis of the composition: suspended, silent, and often ambiguous, inviting a reciprocal act of observation.
Fragmentation here is not rupture, but language. It reflects the way consciousness perceives itself—through partial views, overlaps and discontinuities. Each face emerges as a presence rather than a character: an image that observes as much as it is observed.
The series carries a contemplative and mystical dimension, not tied to any specific belief system. The sacred appears subtly, through stillness, symmetry, imbalance and the tension between form and silence. Colour and geometry act as vehicles of interior states rather than descriptive elements.
Mystical Faces remains an open series, continuously integrated into the broader body of work. It functions as a root: a place where questions about identity, consciousness and perception first took form and continue to resonate within later series.
